Biographical details

Pierre Chabard is an architect, graduating in 1998 from the École d'architecture de Paris-Belleville. Holder of a D.E.A. in "Projet architectural et urbain" (2000), he defended his doctoral thesis in March 2008 (Exposer la ville: Patrick Geddes et le Town planning movement, Th: Université Paris VIII, 2008, 2 vol, 763p.). A lecturer in architectural history since 2004, he has taught at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-la Villette since 2012. Since October 2019, he has been editorial director of Éditions de la Villette.


Publications

Since the late 1990s, Pierre Chabard has worked as an architectural critic in a variety of contexts. A contributor to the Archilab exhibition in Orléans, he helped write the catalogs for the first four editions (1999-2002). An occasional contributor to several architecture magazines (L'architecture d'aujourd'hui, AMC, d'A, A+, Cahiers du Mnam, etc.), he was on the editorial board of Le Visiteur magazine between 2001 and 2003, before co-founding Criticat (2007-2018).
