Learning objectives
The aim of this building technology course is to enable students to acquire the foundations of a technical culture and to learn a method for the reasoned choice of constructive devices and systems:
Cutting out the project and assembling objects, making decisions according to requirements based on the search for and analysis of solutions.
Large-scale construction detailing is introduced as a tool and aid to decision-making.
Content
Le semestre 2 prolonge l’étude des structures principales et développe les thématiques de l’enveloppe (façades et toitures),et de la partition de l’édifice.
Les thématiques sont systématiquement mises en perspective avec des choix de logiques spatiales et plastiques (à travers deux grandes familles : « masse » et « ossature »).
Evaluation method
Continuous assessment:
-Shared tutorials: 30%.
– Final exam: 70%.
– Two table-top exercises are included in the final assessment.
Required work
This course is given as a lecture for the entire class. Three 3-hour tutorial sessions are shared with the 1st year project groups, at the beginning of the semester.
