Cross-disciplinary teaching: STA-Project shared TD (2)
Learning objectives
The aim is to continue the introduction to project work, initiated in the first year and in S3, in order to mobilize, deepen, broaden and theorize these acquired skills. The course provides an opportunity to develop both the know-how and the theoretical tools specific to architecture; it aims to gradually lead to responsible and rigorous management, where the project approach is conducted around the question of relevance.
This is the result of a coherent set of intentions arising from questions of use, context and built space.
Using a concrete project approach, students learn to identify, formulate and develop the problems they encounter, and then to articulate these problems in a coherent overall response. Each project thus provides an opportunity to explore the tools of an enterprise that is both cognitive, enabling the complexity of the task to be understood, and speculative, enabling a response to be proposed, critiqued and transformed.
Content
Evaluation method
Continuous assessment and specific end-of-year jury. These juries are “crossed” and involve other project teachers from the year.
Work required :
At each session: sketches, models, drawings,
– Students present their work and teachers analyze it for the whole group,
-Intermediate presentations: summary of approach and sketch of all graphic elements,
-Final jury: exhaustive (“hand-drawn”) rendering and model (without gray, white or beige cardboard colors),
– Course language: French.
Required work
Teaching combines lectures on theoretical issues related to project work, with directed student presentations, text commentaries and TD sessions on exercise formatting techniques.
Particular attention is paid to the oral and written expression of students’ research projects;
Weekly attendance is required, with regular corrections in the form of shared corrections (with the two teachers Pietro CREMONINI and Stéphanie BOURLIS) and individual corrections. In both cases, work is posted at each stage.
