Céline Marty: "Thinking technocritical architecture with André Gorz and Ivan Illich: back to raw earth and low-tech energies?"

How can the technocriticism of André Gorz and Ivan Illich in the 1970s inspire current architectural practices? By explaining their analyses and concepts (critique of growth, heteronomous and convivial tools, community autonomy and self-management of needs), we will then consider alternatives: reuse and raw-earth construction, low-tech energy systems, frugal and resilient solutions adapted to territories, self-management of energy needs.
