Since April 2025, the Chœur d’Hommes de La Villette and the women’s choir ‘Music Chain for Ukraine’ have been touring with the HORIZON – ГОРИЗОНТ program. They reunite for a final concert in Paris.

Between a Ukrainian women’s choir living as refugees in France and singing in Ukrainian, and a French men’s choir singing in France in other languages, the program was conceived as a bridge between different cultures. Composed of sacred and secular songs, both traditional and contemporary, it describes a composite and composed world, rich in its plurality.

As with every Chœur d’Hommes de La Villette concert, this event is also an opportunity to discover or rediscover the architecture of the venue, and to experiment with the link between acoustics and spatiality.

The artists

The Chœur d’Hommes de La Villette is a male a cappella choir created in March 2014 at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-la Villette and is directed by Loïk Blanvillain. The majority of its members are architecture professionals. Each year, it works around programs bringing together traditional songs from around the world, in their original languages.

The Choir Music Chain for Ukraine is made up of Ukrainian women now living in France, and specializes in Ukrainian polyphonic music, both secular and religious. For over two years, this women’s choir has been sharing this rich Ukrainian choral culture with French audiences. It was founded and is directed by Alissa Lytvak.
  

Location

The Church of the Holy Spiritbuilt byarchitect Paul Tournonis a remarkable example of the Art Deco. Its red Burgundy brickcombined with a reinforced concrete structurehouses a monumental cupola and a Byzantine-inspired Byzantine inspirationthe building’s uniqueness.
