Year off

• Long internships in compliance with internship regulations: the maximum duration is limited to 6 months per academic year in the same host organization. Students may carry out several internships in different organizations. Internships must be governed by an internship agreement.
• Voluntary service in France or abroad.
• Business creation project as part of the “student entrepreneur” scheme and obtaining the student entrepreneur diploma supported by the Pépite clusters within a COMUE.
• A period of training in a field other than architecture, which can serve as a springboard for reorientation.
• Personal project, with or without a link to training.

• The period is optional.
• Student status is maintained with the student card.
• During the gap year, students cannot continue to follow their courses at ENSAPLV, since they have chosen to interrupt their studies.
• The gap year takes place over the whole year, not just one semester, during the curriculum, from the end of the 1st year and before the final year of study. The gap year cannot straddle two academic years.
• The gap year begins on October 1 and ends on September 30 of the academic year concerned (e.g.: for a gap year scheduled for 2025/2026, the gap year begins on 01/10/2025, and ends on 30/09/2026).
• The student re-enters the program at the end of the gap year. The school guarantees that the student will be re-registered on his or her return, provided that he or she has submitted a gap year report (approximately 3 to 4 pages) to the gap year manager before the end of administrative registration.
• The gap year is not included in the number of enrolment rights per cycle.
• Internships carried out during the gap year do not qualify for ECTS credits, nor for validation of compulsory internships. Nor can they be used to obtain an exemption for a compulsory internship. It is therefore not necessary to have a supervising teacher.
• To obtain a gap year agreement, you must be enrolled in a gap year. No request for an agreement will be processed if registration has not yet been completed and validated by the administration.
• During the gap year, students can carry out as many internships as they wish, up to a maximum of 6 months in the same organization.

L3 students wishing to take a gap year before M1 must have completed all their courses, including compulsory internships.

• Total exemption from registration fees if no training course is planned;
• Partial payment of registration fees if the student plans one or more internships under agreement with the school;
• Scholarship status: to be specified on the application form and proven at registration with the scholarship notification.
