Staufer & Hasler Architects: Care – Work – Impact

In 1994, the architectural firm Staufer & Hasler Architekten was founded by Astrid Staufer and Thomas Hasler. Over the following decades, the firm completed numerous projects, and the team has grown to include more than 60 employees today.

What is particularly noteworthy is the wide variety of building types and scales involved: this includes public buildings dedicated to education, government, healthcare, sports, and culture, as well as residential construction. Their work ranges from urban planning to the completion of construction projects.

Staufer & Hasler Architekten deliberately focuses on Switzerland so that it can manage and carry out projects holistically, drawing on an in-depth understanding of the local context and prioritizing close dialogue with local craft traditions. Cost planning and construction management often remain in the hands of the architects. A mutually enriching relationship with international education and research also informs their practice.

The exhibition is dedicated to the Graubünden Cantonal Hospital. The creation of a hospital is not the result of a single idea, but rather the convergence of many areas of expertise, disciplines, and decisions. The exhibition invites visitors to explore the stages of its design and construction, as well as the care and precision required to bring a project of this scale to fruition.
