At the invitation of the team in charge of educational activities at La Conciergerie, some fifteen students from the school, supervised by two teachers, are taking part in a two-day workshop in situ, led by artist Claire Vaudey.
This graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris program invites them to express themselves on the theme of “Under the stones”, questioning how time is perceived, illustrated materially, accumulated; and how spaces are transformed according to the societies that inhabit them.
The works are created during a collective public performance on Thursday, May 7. In addition to the group of students from ENSA Paris-la Villette, high-school students, future artists and amateur artists also take part in the event.
All the works are then exhibited in the monument until May 18.
ENSAPLV’s approach: A palimpsest history
Cities have been built in strata, where civilizations, histories and buildings are superimposed on one another. It’s essential that architecture students are aware of this. A teaching project at Master 1 level at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-la Villette has therefore been launched on this subject, with students asked to describe the constitution of this morphology in the form of a model.
Participating students:
Mohammed Amar, Ann Rose Babu, Maria Jose Cabrera, Ela Nur Dogan, Inasse El Kajjou, Aswatha Gireesan, Yasmine Hmamouchi, Lina Khadir, Kheirdine Nouar, Louis Petro, Diane Phan, Walid Si Hadj Mohand, Urara Taguchi and Gizem Yilmaz.
Supervising teachers:
Chantal Dugave and Xiaoling Fang
Accompanying teachers:
Lou Ricome and Céline Baez
