As part of the “Les Journées de l’architecture | Die Architekturtage” festival, organized by the European House of Architecture – Upper Rhine (MEA), the KMØ in Mulhouse is hosting a group exhibition featuring projects by students from the “Urban Transformations” master’s studio at ENSA Paris-la Villette, under the guidance of professors Christian Horn and Quentin Le Norment.
In collaboration with ENSA Strasbourg and KIT Karlsruhe, the students explored the evolution of the Mulhouse metropolitan area—its vast industrial and natural landscapes—as well as the potential for urban development around the Rhône-Rhine Canal and the existing and future stations along the Mulhouse-Müllheim cross-border rail line. The exhibition presents forward-looking scenarios for the cities, towns, and landscapes of the Upper Rhine: drawings, models, and illustrations powerfully highlight the challenges facing this cross-border metropolitan area.
This marks the second time that this HMU master’s studio has participated in the festival, following the 2025 exhibition of student work at Art’Rhena on Île du Rhin. In 2026–27, the master’s studio, led by Christian Horn and Robert Helmholz, will travel to Germany to explore the city of Wörth am Rhein alongside its partners from ENSA Strasbourg and KIT.
The opening reception, followed by a panel discussion with local stakeholders, will take place on Thursday, October 8, at 6:00 p.m.
The exhibition is open Wednesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
