How to become a citizen in architecture studies?

As part of the exhibition ” L’Archifoto: En dehors du cadre “, presented from May 19 to 29, 2026 in the exhibition gallery of ENSA Paris-la Villette, the student curators are organizing a round table on citizen architects.
Student and political involvement with l’causeur.euses
The subject of the “Archifoto: En dehors du cadre” exhibition is student involvement. It encompasses buddies, associations, collectives and a whole lot in between. Hence the need to focus on a rather unusual collective born at La Villette: political, committed, horizontal and calmly challenging our ways of thinking: Causeur.euses.
By questioning the Les Causeur.euses collective about their internal management, origins, motivations, politicization and principles, the organizers hope to create desires, links and projects among all concerned.
So, if you’d like to understand how such a collective works, or if you simply feel like getting involved to raise essential issues, come and join them this Wednesday at ENSAPLV for a great discussion!
Made up of students and young architects, the collective was founded in 2023 at the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Paris-la Villette, in the wake of the ENSA mobilizations. It was born out of a shared observation about the absence of spaces dedicated to a critical reading of current political, social and ecological issues within architecture studies. Given the complex issues at stake in architecture and housing, the collective decided to use round-table discussions to re-politicize these production systems and open up collective debate. They bring together students, researchers, teachers, activists, artists and residents.
